Church Town House is situated directly in the square in the centre of the picturesque medieval village of Cartmel.

Cartmel is a hugely desirable place to stay. It is home to a stunning 12th Century Priory, a fantastic race course and unlimited rural walks and bike rides, both on the doorstep and in the wider Lake District National Park - with Lake Windermere just 6 miles away.

It's a good job there are plenty of nice exercise options, as Cartmel is also foodie heaven. Dubbed as "Roganville", Cartmel's very own celebrated chef Simon Rogan now serves not only from his Michelin starred L'Enclume - hailed the Best Restaurant in the UK 2014 by the Good Food Guide - but also from his pub The Pig and Whistle and his additional restaurant Rogan & Company. There are another 3 fantastic pubs in this tiny village, as well as a host of top class coffee shops, a cheese shop, vintners, bakery and local brewery. And, if you still got room left, there is of course the world famous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding shop!
